Overview
Creating custom Display Types allows you to tailor signage to different screen orientations and resolutions. Each Display Type also has an associated Playlist that determines which campaigns play by default. This guide explains how to create a new Display Type and its default Playlist.
Before You Begin
- Ensure you have Digital Signage enabled in your organisation.
- Know the resolution and orientation of the display you’re targeting (e.g. 1920×1080 for landscape, 1080×1920 for portrait).
- Have administrator access to manage display types.
Step 1 — Navigate to Display Types
- From the left-hand navigation, choose Digital Signage → Display Types.
- This page lists existing Display Types and their default Playlists.
Step 2 — Add a New Display Type
- Click Add Display Type.
- Enter a Name for the display type (e.g. “Entrance-Landscape”).
- Set the Resolution (Width × Height) to match your screens.
- Optionally, add a Description to help others understand its purpose.
- Click Save Changes. A default Playlist with the same name will be created automatically.
Step 3 — Review and Edit the Playlist
- After saving, you’ll be taken to the new Playlist.
- Use this Playlist to organise campaigns that should play by default for this Display Type.
- You can return to this Playlist at any time from Digital Signage → Playlists.
Success!
You’ve created a new Display Type with its own default Playlist ready to receive campaigns.
