AEM SCREENS | Creating a New Brand / Area / Activity

Once you've created a New Segment/Audience in AEM, you now need to Add that Segment/Audience to an Activity & then author the desired Experience for that Segment within the AEM Screens Channel.

AEM Brands, Areas & Activities allow you to split your Personalisation Program into seperate areas within AEM. Brands can be used to support a Multi-Brand Enterprise or to support Different Organisational Units (e.g. Consumer, SMB, Enterprise), Areas can be used to seperate Touch-Points (e.g. AEM Sites, AEM Screens) & Activities can be used to manage Campaigns/Experiences across different Display-Types (as covered below).

Follow the Steps below to set-up a New Brand/Activity:

1. From the AEM Home screen, select Personalization & then Activities.

2. Select Create (top right), select Create Brand, Tick Brand & select Next.

3. Enter a Title. We recommend calling this 'Personalisation Hub' and select Create.

4. Now create a New Area for all your AEM Screens Campaigns. Click on the 'Personalisation Hub' Brand Folder.

5. Select Create (top right), select Create Area, Tick Area & select Next.

6. Enter a Title. We recommend calling this 'AEM Screens' and select Create.

7. Now Create seperate Activities for each of your different Display-Types. Click on the 'AEM Screens' Area Folder.

8. Select Create (top right) & then Create Activity.

9. Enter a Title & Name (no spaces or special characters). We recommend naming these after each of your Display-Types (authors will then clearly see which Activities belong to what Channels/Display-Types), select Next.

10. On the following page, select Add Experience, find & select the Segment/Audience (that you created in the previous step), give the Experience a Name, then select Next & Finally Save.

11. Select/Tick the Activity that you just created and select Manage Publication (follow the steps to Publish).
