Please Note: This section assumes that you have installed the Personalisation Hub AEM Package & successfully connected AEM Screens to the Personalisation Hub Platform.
AEM Segments/Audiences allows you to control which Campaigns/Experiences get presented in each Store/Location (e.g. for Localising Campaigns) or for Personalising Campaigns/Experiences presented to specific Visitors.
Authors create Segments in AEM & as soon as these Segments resolve (i.e. data provided by Personalisation Hub matches data configured in the Segment) the corresponding Campaign/Experience will get presented.
STEP 1 - Login to Personalisation Hub
1. Browse > COMPANY SETTINGS > STORE SEGMENTS
2. Select 'Add New Variable Store Segment' / 'Add New Fixed Store Segment' (hover over the tooltip to find out more about each of these).
Please Note: Either Variable or Fixed Store Segment can be used to support the following user guide.
3. Give the New Segment a Name (Demo Audience 1 will be used below).
4. Select Save.
STEP 2 - Login to AEM
5. From the AEM Home screen, select Personalization & then Audiences.
6. Select the 'personalisation-hub' folder, select Create (top right) then select Create ContextHub Segment.
7. Give the Segment an appropriate Name (Title), Boost Value & select Create. You may see a Resource Already exists error message - please ignore this & simply refresh the Segments page.
Please Note: Boost Values are used to control which Segments/Experiences take priority over other Segments/Experiences (the higher the value > the higher the priority). We recommend using Boost = 50 for Localised Campaigns.
8. Select/Tick the Segment, select Properties in the top Nav menu & open the Personalization tab.
9. Browse/Select the correct Personalisation Hub paths for ContextHub & Segments then select Save.
The path are as follows:
The ContextHub path is: /conf/personalisation-hub/settings/cloudsettings/personalisation-hub/contexthub
The Segments path is: /conf/personalisation-hub/settings/wcm/segments
Here is a screenshot of the paths once selected.
10. Select/Tick the Segment & select Edit.
11. Drag & Drop the Comparison Property - Value component into the AND segment container & select Spanner (Config).
12. Define the Required Segment Paths & Data (see Different Types of Localised Segments/Data).
In this user guide we recommend using location-store/displays/0/
Please Note: For this user guide you must use the 'contains' operator as all Store-Segment, Display-Tag & Languages-Spoken data is provided as a list (separated by commas).
13. Close the Browser Tab & the Segment has been created in AEM Author Instance.
14. Finally make sure that you Publish the New Segment.
