AEM SCREENS | Dirtying & Republishing a Targeted Channel

Sometimes when publishing after modifying a channel the changes made fail to be reflected on the display. Often the solution is a republishing of the channel using a process we call 'Dirtying the Channel'. When the channel contains targeted campaigns the process is as follows.

1. Navigate to your Screens Project and highlight Channels.

2. Select the channel that contains targeted campaigns. Select Manage Publication. At Options, select Next.

3. At Scope select the Channel and Publish References then, click Publish.

4. A Pop-up appears with references click Done then, click Publish. This will return you to the channel list.

5. Select the Channel once more. This time select Edit. A new tab with the channel open ready to be edited. In Edit mode Drag and Drop an image into the channel and then Immediately Delete it. This is the 'Dirtying' part of this process. Now close the tab. 

6. Returning to the channel list tab select the Channel one last time. Now select Manage Publications at Options click Next and at Scope click Publish. The channel should now show the changes you made.
